I am using Windows 7 Beta and am unable to find a compatible sound card driver for my Gateway MX6427 laptop. I can't remember exactly who manufactures the sound card.

The only thing listed on gateway's site is: AC '97 2.3 Compliant Audio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I doubt you'll find Windows 7 drivers for a while yet. I've not seen them on any website so far. It doesn't matter who made the sound device (ie: Conexant) as laptops cannot use generic drivers, they must use specific drivers from the laptop maker or "hacked for laptops" drivers.

Gateway only supports this machine in Windows XP and Windows Vista 32.
