I reconfigured the hard drive before I realized I didn't know where the disk was for the CD - RW.

Optical drivers get their support (drivers) from the OS... not from a disk that came with the drive. All the disk will contain is burning software (required in order to burn disks) and possible a dos driver (not needed in a Windows machine).

And internal drives don't have "other" interface. Most modern built internal drives have IDE or SATA interface.
Please explain what the problem is. If your unable to burn disks, you must obtain burning software and install it. Otherwise, just to read a data or music disk, no driver is required since the OS provides this support natively.
