My dvd-rom dont read any cd of music or data but read perfectly dvd's, i dont know if i need reinstall a more current driver or simply reinstall the drivers for fix it, thx any help that you can give me

You cannot update the driver since it's provided by the XP OS. I suspect your drive is defective since it uses different laser for cd data/music and dvd. You can buy a refurbished drive from Geeks.com for less that $21.00

A way to test if the drive is bad is to change the boot order in BIOS setup to where the optical drive is the first boot device. Then insert any bootable disk (like the Windows XP install disk) and see if it will boot the machine. If it does, the drive is ok. If it doesn't boot, then you need to replace the drive.
