I have been trying to find drivers / firmware updates for this drive for a friend and have been unable to find anything. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Drivers are provided by the OS. As to firmware, why are you wanting to update the firmware? If you don't have a reason, don't attempt it.
I suspect the place to find firmware (if it's available) is the HP website.
