I need a driver for a mitsumi cd-rom model CRMC-FX120T. This is for an older PC running win98 that doesn't have internet access; therefor I can't run the scan and download the driver. Since the cd-rom isn't working until I can get a driver I can't run anything from the cd-rom. How can I get the driver?

You can't. The only driver support that comes with Windows 98 is internal to the OS. Windows 98 provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk.

When the drive is properly connected/configured, the os should recognize the drive during bootup
and a listing should appear in Device Manager under CD-ROM showing the drive. If the os fails to
detect the drive, here are the most common reasons:

1: Improperly connected ide ribbon cable or defective cable/connectors.
2: Master/Slave jumper not set correctly.
3: Problem with the ide port to which the drive is connected or wrong ide drivers installed.
4: IDE port is disabled in bios.
5: Defective drive.

To insure detection occurs re-check all of the above insuring all is correct. Normally, an internal ide
cd-rw drive is attached to the secondary ide port and jumpered as Master and if an additional
cd-type drive is also installed in the same system, it's attached to the same secondary port and
jumpered as Slave. However, they will function just the reverse as well, providing one is jumpered
master, the other as slave.
