You are wrong about the interface. This drive has EIDE/ATAPI inteface (as nearly all drives built the the last several years are with exception to SATA drives). But regardless of whether it's scsi or EIDE/ATAPI, it doesn't require any driver when used in Windows OS's. The Windows 2000 Server OS provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. It does not provide any support for playing DVD movie disks. For this task, compatible 3rd. party dvd decoding software must be installed... like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
