Optical drives never require a driver when used in Windows XP OS. The OS provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. If you have only read a few posts in this forum, you would have known that. please say what the problem is and include some details. Is the drive listed in My Computer and in Device Manager?
