What I need isn't exactly a driver, but I hope it's close enough that someone here can help. I was given a used Sony VAIO notebook (PCG-FX120 / PCG-955A); it was originally shipped with Windows ME but the hard drive content has been trashed and I want to run OS/2 on it. What I need is the ABIOS.SYS for this hardware.

Support Information:
Device Type: BIOS / Motherboard
Manufacturer: Sony Electronics
Model: PCG-FX120
Interface: Other
Operating System: OS/2
Age of Device: Not specified
FCCID:

Find it on DriverGuide (http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?action=srch&sm=b&aax=&qa6=965&qa5=1&qa7=0&dp=3&qm0=PCG-FX120&jmd=and&fzz=d) | Find it with Google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Sony+Electronics+BIOS+%2F+Motherboard++PCG-FX120+OS%2F2+) | Research manufacturer Sony Electronics (http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?action=getinfo&companyid=965)

I should have mentioned that I have the "recovery" CDs and so can restore the original software load, but can't find anything I recognize as the ABIOS.SYS on them.

look around on these sites... I think it's posted in one of the zip files but haven't the time to download all of them and check to see if it is in one of those zip files.

Try this one first (ie: you may have to dl several to find the file). If that doesn't produce any results, check out these links:

ABIOS.SYS file is found in the \IBMLAN\RPL\OS2.2x\OS2 subdirectory on the IBM reference disk.

abios.sys is available here (systemfiles.net/sys/a/abios.sys/download.html), but they want $14.95 for it.

These links might help:

abios.sys is listed here (www.os2site.com/sw/hardware/ibm/ps2/76_77/) but I cannot figure out how to download it.
