i have reinstalled my OS and a friend of mine told me that i have to install my mainboard driver which i can't find in any other site.

i'm experiencing minor problems that might be the result
of the absence of the said driver.

Bios update instructions for AMI bios: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=html&name=service_note#ami

The driver link contains all available drivers for this motherboard. Are these all you need? I suppose so... unless you've added after-market hardware to the board, then you will need drivers for the hardware you've added.

Did you install the Via 4 in 1 driver before installing the sound driver? If not, I suggest you try that first. Sometimes it's just a matter of the install order of the drivers. If that fails, try reading any txt or doc or html files that exist in the folder where you extracted the files to. There may exist instructions that you overlooked.

I don't understand your term "2 music"

ohh sorry. REVISED version: im experiencing a sound problem

i usually play online games at the same time listening to music.

if these two operate together, due to the lag of the game sometimes,

it produces this scratchy sound.

sometiems it leaves my system frozen, so i need to reboot.

i think i have installed the audio device first before the chipset.

so, if thats d case, should i uninstall it and reinstall d chipset 1st before d audio device?

**how am i suppsoe to uninstall d chipset anyway

You can uninstall any hardware in Device Manager. Just highlight the item, right-click it and select "Uninstall" from the drop-down menu.

Another thing you might want to try is to configure the machine where nothing loads at startup. You do this by clicking RUN, then type MSCONFIG into the run box and click ok. From the General tab, tick "Selective Startup", then untick "Load Startup Items", click APPLY, then answer YES when it ask you to restart the system. Now test the sound. If it improves then you have some other startup item that needs updated or files replaced. If you notice, there is a STARTUP tab that will show ALL startup items to which you can selective add or remove individual items so you can isolate the problem application.

Note: don't forget to put it back like it was originally when finished testing. ie: select "Normal Startup, load all device drivers and service", click the APPLY button, then reboot when prompted to do so.

i cant see any option for the 4n1 chipset be uninstalled.

searched but no success.

but ill still be trying ur second opinion, hope it does work.

EDIT : i tried to unable all processes using msconfig. but after that, i restarted my system atleast 3x, it made my system

much lag and results to hanging up.
