Hello All!

Here's what I would like to do:

I've an elderly laptop Dell Latitude C600, with W2K on it.
I just acquired a more recent Dell Latitude C840.

I made a ghost image of my Dell C600 and restituted it onto the Dell C840.
Off course the system won't boot:

Message:
Inaccessible_boot_device

Now, I have installed a new fresh W2K install in a separate partition on the new machine. There I have installed all the necessary drivers.
Then I made a backup with Driverguide Tools.

Now is there a way to restore the 'new' driverset to the 'old' image partition, and make it boot again?

to my knowledge so far, you can't put anything new to old 'image'-file.

I might be wrong, in that case, correct me.

I've use ghost version 7.0 to clone exact images before my customer hard disk crashes. In order to do just that you must prepare a new hard drive and set the jumper to slave,Boot your computer with the bootable ghost diskette and start copying the old images to the new hard disk is that simple. As for your case you might need external hard drive to do this,it is exactly the same method after when you complete the process plug your external hard disk to the new notebook and boot using the ghost diskette choose your external hdd and start cloning to your notebook hdd, when the whole process is complete remove your external hdd and reboot your notebook.
