i just recently formatted my laptop and reinstalled all my drivers but theres one more driver i think that is causing the problem, I looked in my device manager and theres an UNKNOWN driver called "PCI Device" I think this is causeing my sound problems

What's listed under Sound, video, and game controllers?

Did you do a restore or Windows installation?

Does the install files contain the drivers for all your hardware, including the sound driver?

Tell me what laptop you have, what OS you're running, and what you used to perform the installation.
