Visioneer(now Nuance)claims the 8920 will work with XP but won't work with SP-2 or SP-3. I need a driver, even another model or company(HP?) that will work the 8920 Will any of the other visioneer model drivers work on the Visioneer 8920?? HELP!

The reason SP2 and SP3 wasn't on the list is at the time they created the web page, SP2 and SP3 had not been released. I see no reason why it would fail to work in Windows XP with SP2 or SP3 installed. The only way to know is install the driver and see.

Also when I went to the Visioneer site at the bottom of information on the 8920USB, there is this caveat : ("The Windows XP driver for this product has been designed to work with Windows XP Service Pack 1. Due to the increased security features in Service Pack 2, this driver may not work on systems with Service Pack 2 installed.")
That is why I was asking if another driver (maybe for a newer Visioneer scanner or another brand) would work with the 8920USB ??? It is also called a Visioneer 8920 1D-WU (That may be a SKU number) Then there is a P/N : 90-0466-200 (I am not sure what that is?) The scanner is in immaculate shape. with all pristine original accessories.

That means it may not work on systems with SP2 installed (the way I read it). If also may work but if it doesn't there's not much can be done unless Visioneer releases a patch or other fix. I doubt you'll see any support for it on any site other than Visioneer. I don't have one to test using other drivers so I cannot help you on that one. You can only try them to see if they work. Not many companies are offering much in the way of newer drivers for older scanner models in newer Windows OS's.
