Hi, I thought it would be ok to post here. I'm not a novice, but I'm no expert either.
Having sorted out protection errors after installing Win 95 on a high spec new machine, the drivers for most of the devices don't work, simply because they weren't designed for Win 95.
My main problems are:
1. Network - the drivers for this onboard ethernet (SiS fast ethernet controller) are for WIn98 minimum. I have tried a few other drivers but haven't succesfully found one that will work. Can setup using original drivers, but on rebooting I get an NDIS error.
2. CDRW - Philips CDRW which again doesn't workas a RW with Win 95. Generic CDrom using MS drivers is all I can get working. Have searched for possible Win 95 CDRW drivers, but again nothing has been forth coming.
3. PCI usb drivers samething. included drivers not suitable for Win 95.
4. Video drivers for philips LCD using microsoft VGA drivers. This is working ok, but only gives me 16 colours.
I was wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers. I'm starting to pull my hair out, what's left of it.
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
