Imation Ext DVD Driver
08-12-2008, 06:34 AM
I bought Imation External DVD Storage model: IMW18DL88Rame. It came with Nero Driver. When I installed it on my machine and tryed copy my files to a DVD or CD, I faced two problems. first, It did not copy files with long names. Second, it did not recognize or accept ARABIC file names and replaced it with ????? and did not copy it. Now, I am looking for multi-lingual driver that will recognize long file names.
Best regards,
Ali

Nero is not a driver..... it's a recording software. Please explain the steps you took to "copy my files to a DVD or CD". Also, did you get any error messages during install or after running Nero?

Optical drives never require a driver when used in Windows XP. The OS provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. All that's required is a working USB port.
