Dear Friends
I have an old Cyrix Media GX Mother Board with CyrixInstead 266 Mhz MMX Processor.
This mother board has built-in Audio, Video, Multi Media.
Audio Port on the mother board has the following information :
Analog Devices
AD1819AJST SOUND PORT, BTB13757A 0.6, 9837 UK
BIOS Informnation as follows
Program : Unicore BIOS Wizard Version 1.9
Program : Unicore Chip Detect v0.72 2000.03.10
BIOS Date : 10/13/98
BIOS Type : Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID : 10/13/1998-GXm-Cx5530-2A434001C-00
BIOS Eval : GXm+ 02810
CPU INFORMATION AS FOLLOWS
VENDOR : CyrixInstead
Instr. Family : 80586
Frequency : 266 MhZ
Stepping : 0h
Type : M2
Model : 47h-Gx86(tm)/P150
I have searched and loaded most of the nearest drivers for sound port.
But whenever a bit of sound is playing the system is hanging.
(1) Cyrix Media GX MMX Drivers from Driverguide.com
(2) AD1819 drivers from Driverguide.com
(3) GX drivers from Driverguide.com
None of the above worked for me. My problem of Hangind and giving error messages with a word "VMM". Finally I have to press reset button to run the system for other than sound works.
Is it Sound Port problem ? OR
Is it Drivers problem ? OR
Is it any Hardware Problem ?
Pl. let me know the reason for my problem ? I shall be very much thankful to the one.
NOTE : We can Disable Sound Card in the CMOS SetUp Manually. But CMOS Battery was getting Discharged, even I put a New Battery 6V. Hence, I am unable to disable sound Facility through CMOS setup.
Any tech expert give me suggetion ? Is there any way to discharging the battery ? If I got any advise to solve my battery dis-charge problem I shall be very very much thankful to them. Then I can add PCI/ISA based additional
sound card into the slot & I can manage to get sound from my system.
Can I totally remove the above said AD1819 AJST sound port hardware part from my mother board ? It may also somewhat solve my problem. Then I can add additional Sound Card and can solve my problem.
HELP ME, ADVISE ME, Expecting Early reply from anybody.
Thanking you, With Regards
