That's because you're probably looking in the wrong place. You won't find it on the Asus website because it's an OEM motherboard Asus made specially for HP/Compaq.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01321559&dlc=en&lc=en&cc=us

Determine what HP or Compaq machine it came in, and go here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?dlc=en&lc=en&cc=us

I think you'll find it came in the Pavilion S3200N series of machines.

The only way to find out is visit the vendors website and look to see if XP drivers are available. Unless it came from HP/Compaq with XP installed, I doubt you will find XP drivers. Here's a software tool that might help:

To find make and model of pc hardware, EVEREST Home Edition is a free system diagnostics, system information program that will id most hardware onboard a mb. as well as the actual motherboard.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtml

Alternate Everest download link: (offers 2 sites to dl program from)
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/EVEREST-Home-Edition-Download-16369.html

Run the program and then:

Click on Computer
Click on Summary
Right hand window (hardware) if the text is BLUE this is a link to the web site for that particular hardware.

If you have additional questions or need further help, please post a SUMMARY report from Everest.

Has anyone had any luck with loading Windows XP on the HP Computers with the Asus Motherboard and Nvidia Chipset?

If so what were the problems besides the obvious one of I can't find the driver for Windows xp.

Thanks,

Jackie

1. If able, install a usb NIC (I used a Linksys USB200M)
2. Once installed go to http://nvidia.com
3. From the drop down menue "Download Drivers" - select Download Drivers
4. Select option Option 2 Motherboards

Let it do its thing and you will be up and running with 95% or your needed drivers. If running XP sp2 - it will show a pci device
without a driver. Once you apply XP sp3 - it will show that this is Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus.
Go to http://realtek.com/downloads/ -- look to the right for Quick Links. Under Quick Links look for the HD Audio Codec Driver.
Download and install. That will fix that problem.

If you come back and try Option 2 under nVidia for the Graphic Drivers - it will fail. Manually install GeoForce 9500S drivers to
get that fixed.
