AC97 is not a Realtek sound chipset number... it's only a standard set by Microsoft in 1997. If it's pcmcia, then it's for a laptop. Did it come with the laptop or is it add-on? If the first, please identify the laptop. I doubt generic drivers from Realtek will work since laptops require specific drivers from the laptop maker or from the vendor of the device.
