IBM never wrote any drivers beyond Windows NT4.0 for this machine. The info on the link above indicates the driver is built into Windows 2000... it should be the same for Windows XP.

The thing about laptops is they require specific drivers from the laptop maker as generic drivers won't work on a laptop. IBM doesn't have any XP drivers so you may have to run it without sound in order to run it in XP.
