PC brand and model?

Desktop or laptop?

You will not be able to get a Realtek driver to work on a ADI SoundMax audio chipset.

All HP pc's have a sticker on the outside of the pc which contains the model number. Check the bottom, top, back, and sides.

The only HP pc's I could find with the Intel Springdale-G i865G chipset are the D530 and D330. They both use the ADI SoundMax chip for sound. You can download the driver from this link:

I try with many Soundmax drivers, but nothing results, when i`m install it says "driver not found"

Gateway never sold this pc with Windows XP installed hence they offer no support for it in that os. Windows ME is the OS installed on this machine from Gateway when it left their factory.

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=15846&dscr=SoundMAX%20Integrated%20Digital%20Audio%20dri ver,%20version%205.12.01.3000&uid=235447255

That's not to say there is no driver for Windows XP for this machine, only that Gateway doesn't have it posted under this machine model. Look around on their site and find a newer pc that has a compatible or similar sound chip as yours and try it. Or search using your favorite search engine and keyword "AD1981B+XP drivers". You might get lucky.

Try this driver: http://download.opendrivers.com/showfile.php?file=TDNOdmRXNWtZMkZ5WkM5aGJtRnNiMmN0 WkdWMmFXTmxjeTloWkY4eE9EZzFYelV4TWpBeE5USTBNQzU2YV hBPT0=
