You choose to omit some very important info like what pc system this mb came installed in. You also failed to provide the proper name for this mb.... it's IPIBL-LB (Benicia). This motherboard came installed in some of HP's machines llike the Presario SR5325ES Desktop PC. I'm sure it was used in other HP models as well. It also came with Windows VISTA installed so support in XP will be difficult (if not impossible) to find from HP.

ie: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01324212&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3658015

When you determine your pc system model, visit the link below and type the model number into the box and click the >> button:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?dlc=en&lc=en&cc=us

Or just click the Support and Drivers button from the 1st link and do the same thing.

If you care to identify the on-board hardware, we might be able to help. If you're unable to do so, then I suggest the following program:

To find make and model of pc hardware, EVEREST Home Edition is a free system diagnostics, system information program that will id most hardware onboard a mb. as well as the actual motherboard.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtml

Alternate Everest download link: (offers 2 sites to dl program from)
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/EVEREST-Home-Edition-Download-16369.html

Run the program and then:

Click on Computer
Click on Summary
Right hand window (hardware) if the text is blue this is a link to the web site for that particular hardware.

If you have additional questions or need further help, please post a SUMMARY report from Everest.

Sorry but I can't help until I know what HP Pavilion model this came in.
Asus doesn't provide any support for their OEM motherboards.

Please don't use quote to reply unless there are more than you and I in the thread.

It came with HP a6552f desktop computer windows vista 64 bit recently I purchased. But also HP use it for many models up till now. My issue is I have a software that does not work on the new bios but it will on the old :hdspin:
So I was wonder if there is old bios not necessary for this model but the same type of motherboard. :gabby:

The BIOS for Vista is dated 07-2008, Ver. 5.25, file size: 1.58 MB. for the HP SR5325ES Desktop PC. It's exactly the same for the Pavilion a6552f Desktop PC.

I'd be really cautious about trying to load a bios from another series unless the motherboards are identical hardware wise. Doing so can render the board useless if the wrong bios is installed. I'd also be cautious about trying it until you know someone else that has done it successfully. That's the number 1 problem with HP pc's that were shipped with Vista installed and folks not liking the awful Vista OS who really prefer Windows XP over the newer OS.

You can check the HP forums to see if that problem has been encountered/solved:

http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/james/home.do
or a more detailed search can be found here:
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/james/home.do?admit=109447626+1219201614482+28353475

If not, then try posting a request of your own in the forum and perhaps one of the HP experts can help you.

And you might want to keep watch on this thread to see if anyone answers:

http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1219201165887+28 353475&threadId=1247372

And you might want to scroll thru this lengthy multi-page forum of links:

http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/categoryhome.do?hpweb_printable=true&admit=109447627+1219201229609+28353475&categoryId=279&pageNum=5
The moderators on the HP forum should be better equipped to handle your request than we can since they only deal with HP/Compaq pc's.

Look, why don't you guys ever talk to Tech-Support?

This is what I got.. Enjoy!

Here is a snipit from the site...

You must be one (Tech support person) or have one that's a brother-in-law because you sound just like one. I wouldn't be caught dead talking to a support person because they know nothing about computers or how to fix them. And most don't have enough sense to read their computer screen to quote scripts that appear there.
They attend a 3 day course in preparation for their job when 3 months wouldn't do any good for most. They stay too busy taking breaks and going outside to smoke a joint...the only thing they absorb comes from the burning end of that stoggie.... and what's left cannot speak English.

and btw, don't come into my house showing disrespect or you'll end up on the vacation list.

I have this mb in a hp m9236.sc and I recently downgraded to xp. Now for some odd reason sata contacts 0, 2, 4 have quit working! In bios and at system startup it says nothing is connected to the above mentioned. I was forced to move my dvd-rw, which was connected on "0" to sata 5 just so I could run a disc. Two other hd's are just sitting and waiting for me to find an answer to this problem...

Do any of you know why or what could cause this to happen?

Thnx

Any idea where I could find the XP Drivers (32bit and 64bit) for either of my new computer's: HP Pavilion a6710t, HP Pavilion a6750t?

Note: one of these does include the Asus IPIBL-LB (Benefica) motherboard. I think the other is: Foxconn MCP73M01H1 (Napa)

I'm hoping to find XP drivers for at least the chipset, graphics, sound, and network. At very least the network, so i can connect it, download diagnostic software and web search for the drivers.

Thanks.

Remove the pc cover and note which Realtek chipset is used for ethernet and it's numbers/letters. Repost with that number and we'll try to find a matching driver. It should be something like this: rtlxxxx
