View Full Version : DRIVER NEEDED: Advent Conexant (Windows XP Professional)

I got a problem, having an Advent 7110 laptop and having re installed, I got the recovery disc but that dies out after a while in mid install so I got a new windows which installed fine, now I have looked around knowing I got the Conexant set (Sound and such) but when I try installing Conexant drivers I get error messages such as

"Driver installation failed. could not find the XXXX device for this driver."

I have no idea what's up with it, does anyone?

Hi Jerry, thanks for the answer.

I have done this too, and I managed to find the chipset and update it, however it still refuses to acknowledge the soundcard.

Update??? Please explain. This is a full install driver, not an update. It must be installed as such.
What listings are shown in Device Manager ---> Sound? Are any flagged?
