I have a new computer that I built it has XP Pro DVD / CD / Card reader Modem and vedio capture card I installed a lot of the software I needed and everything was running fine I tried out my new capture card Convex and it was playing the tv using the s-video port then after a minute or two it locked up totally frozen. I have removed the card and the problem has not went away. The computer will run as long as it is active if you let it sit idle for a minute or two it will be locked up again. All the software including XP is up to date this was all done before the problem happened. Do I need to format the c drive and load everything over again or is there something I am missing??

Ihave the same problem only it locks up after go on the internet.When i open a page with a search engine it freezes and will not work on anything not even control alt delete Help!!!!!!!

Check Memory Cards

Use the XP Event Viewer and check for details of the errors causing the lockup.
