I've been desperately looking for the driver to enable use of my communications port (1). IBM or Lenova do not have it. With Windows 95, this device is installed probably but defaults to being disabled (a little odd). But When I upgrade it, it cannot find the device driver. I have also tried to copy files that were in use but I cannot use them to update the drivers as they arent the right files (ie.serial.sys).

I understand about the the sys file, just showing that it didnt give me the source for the driver I was looking for.

The device is shown in my device manager, so I doubt it has anything to do with settings from bios.

Don't guess, enter bios setup and check.

In bios, the only thing I could do to the serial port was run a test and that came out with a "ok".
