Yeah the sound is part of the motherboard and the driver was sigmatel, but I am unable to install or find the drivers required to play sound.

Sigmatel doesn't offer support to end users. you must go to the vendor, ie: whoever made your pc, for support. Saying what pc brand and model it came in is very important in determing what driver is required and should not be omitted from a request nor not stating what OS your using.

Dell used Sigmatel in making many of their models.

My OS is Windows Xp home edition sp2. I kinda figured I had to go to the guy who redid my computer, was hoping to avoid that blood sucker though.:(

knowing the OS doesn't help without knowing the pc brand and model or the motherboard brand and model.
