View Full Version : DRIVER NEEDED: RealTek Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC (Windows XP Professional)

I upgraded my Windows Vista to Windows XP and now I cant even go online, when I check "Network Connection" all I see is "1394 Net adapter" no "Local Area Connection", and when I check "network adapters" under "device manager" theres no "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC" only "1394 Net Adapter", can someone give me some advice on how to fix this I'm currently on my other computer that I also set up Windows XP on and it works just fine.

Install the correct driver for your hardware. RTL8139 links have been posted in numerous threads in this forum. You can also download Realtek drivers from Realtek website. It's not difficult to find.

The best source for drivers is from your system manufacturer. However, unless they shipped this machine with Windows XP installed, they won't likely have drivers posted for non-supported OS's.
