My pc has Motherboard Manual "M741LMRT" Slot1/Socket-370, PCCHIPS, XCEL2000, SIS620/5595 Chipset, P3 550MHZ and because of the system (98se) is not in perfect working order. I took the hdd (20)gb and reformat, install Xp prof from my friend's computer which is also a P3, 660mhz. Tested in his pc and is working fine, including all the updates etc

I connect it to my own pc and it would not boot to XP. It will always give you the message that because it previously did not ...etc , remove all new installations etc..... and it also show the start up menu where you can choose safe mode, safe mode with prompt, last known good config etc..."

So when I choose 'safe mode', it will still come back o the safe mode menu. when I choose "start normally", it will also come back to the safe mode menu.

Any idea whats wrong with it, is it that we cannot load the XP from 1 pc and install into a different comparable pc. appreciate your advice, thanks

Install it the normal method using the XP installation disk and you'll have much better luck.
