This is my DVD/CD player/burner that came in my acer l100 desktop. It worked fine for months but now will not burn dvd's reads dvd's fine reads and burns cd's fine. ust wil not burn dvd's I have tried multiple programs for burning and none work I pasted the error report from NCI below. I have reinstalls everything back to the original settings etc. Any help would be great!

P.S. plugs directly into my mother board so not sure of interface type

Normally, all burning support in Vista is either handled by the OS itself or by a 3rd party recording software application. If your using NTI Cd Maker and it doesn't recognize there's a blank disk in the drive, that's a good sign it's not compatible with the drive and/or the OS.

Make sure the recording software your using is designed to run in Vista. If it won't then it needs to be a newer version.
