I am getting a error message saying i have performed an elegal operation in kernel32.dll at 017f:bff842b8. how can i fix this problem? oh and at start up it says missing or corrupt command.com

Sounds like someone got into your computer and messed with some deleting of files!!! You can either do a clean install which means dumping your computer or try what is called a dirty install and re install windows over top of existing windows
