This model is only supported in Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP. Unless Xerox has posted Vista drivers recently, it is not supported in Vista os.

Windows Vista DOES support the Xerox 4800. I have been running windows Vista ultimate with my Xerox 4800 and have had no problems what so ever.

You do not need to install ANYTHING.

just plug the scanner in and vista downloads the twain program, and you have a small app that appears in the system tray every time the scanner is connected.

Simple
