That's because none exist other than what the OS provides natively. Optical drives never require a driver when used in Windows XP. The XP os provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. Any other support is provided by 3rd party recording and dvd decoding software. If you have Sonic Record Now software, then what's the problem? ie: non-detection, can't record, can't read? Please give us something to work with.

Does the drive appear in Device Manager? If so, is it flagged as having a problem or does it appear as working ok?

In most instances where the drive is listed in My Computer and Device Manager and is reported as working by Device Manager (but fails to work), it's usually a bad drive. Only way to know is test it in another pc or have a repair shop test it.

I found a firmware update to install at the PC, with Windows XP/2000, it can be located at this link:

http://co.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp

in the first option, you can download the file GSA-H55N 1.05(EW).zip, and the version for this Model.

Before install, pay attention to the readme file, in order to avoid damages.

Good luck, and greetings from Colombia.
