hi,

i have been running w98se on my t15vgf, amd k6/2 500mhz atx and just installed w2kpro and went through the long series of driver updates to get my system up and running as before.

i have tried and tried but cannot get my webcam to register in the usb port. followed the instructions to the letter in my webcam manual, but when i plug the cam in, no wizard box opens up.

i currently have three OS's on my system. w2kpro (new and working one), w2kpro (failed installation), w98se (working version)

i have scoured the net for drivers and newer programs to operate my cam and have tried installing them, but at a point where i click on the webcam program and get a message saying "no creative webcam attached".

i have noticed that their is an "unsupported usb controller" in the add/remove new hardware section and some info i found on the net was saying to keep removing that and trying again. but i haven't had any joy.

i'll keep checking this board for replies and my email is bikebabyuk@yahoo.com

thanks

aah, i tried plugging my scanner in, registered that also as "unsupported usb controller" looks like i probably need new motherboard drivers.

having other problems, msn messenger stopped working, my internet connection 56k window has a p word large than what i use, but still logs me on? yahoo messenger will not "bicreate" or "cocreate"

You certainly want to get rid of non working OS. After that, I am hoping that your OS's are installed on seperate disks or partitions?
The problem could be with your USB ports and not the cam. I would suggest you try a driver called omnivision. It is fairly universal driver for webcams and can be found by searcing for "spacecam 200" on the website www.trust.com
If that doesnt work you should try re-installing USB ports, and if THAT fails try kicking the computer!!
