Laptops cannot use generic drivers. They must use specific drivers designed for that particular laptop. If the laptop manufacturer doesn't provide drivers then your on your own as Marvell (www.marvell.com/contact/cust_support.do) makes it a bit difficult (if not impossible) to get drivers from. They normally don't provide support... they leave support up to the vendor.. in your case, your laptop manufacturer. I suggest paying a visit to your laptop manufacturers website and look for similar models using the same ethernet controller and offering support for Windows XP. If not found then ask them. Or you can use your favorite search engine and look. I found this one in about 5 seconds using Google:
