Obvisouly, you haven't done any reading in this forum... otherwise you would realize that optical drives never require a driver when used in any Windows OS from Windows 95 up thru Windows Vista.

Windows 2000 provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk. It does not provide any burning support. For that task, compatible 3rd party recording software like Nero or Easy Cd Creator is required.
