I have tried 3 drives and none work. I have just installed windows xp home on this computer

If your referring to your floppy drive A:, make sure your pc bios settings are correct for the drive... 1.44 mb possibly? and drive is connected correctly to the floppy controller via ribbon cable and dc power cable is connected right.
