i just bought a creative dvd rom model 5240E and xp installed a driver for it, but when i use powerDVD to play the movie all i get is the audio tracks

what could be the problem,it is a used drive i bought just the drive itself.

is the dvd bundled to a PCI decoder card?? if so... XP wont support it like that u would need to install the original software from creative labs and see if XP is willing to get it going, otherwise i suggest u get a new drive. maybe of those 30 dollar drives will do a good job and wont get u in so many nasty stuff as a creative labs would.

Did you have another Dvd drive in your PC that you replaced with the Creative DVD drv? If so, did you try reinstalling PowerDvd after you installed the Dvd drive? Or try uninstalling powerdvd and then reinstall it.
