Notebooks require specific drivers from the laptop maker. HP does not offer any support for operating systems not installed on the notebook by them.

The only other way of getting drivers is to use hacked drivers. The only hacked notebook drivers that I'm aware of is from www.omegadrivers.net for ATI, nVidia, and 3dFX video chipsets.

Generic drivers will not install on a notebook... they will fail installation. That's not an accident.... notebook manufacturers made them that way.

And HP reveals very little information about hardware descriptions for their notebooks...as you can see:
