Anyone run across the problem with some event sounds not working if using Windows 2000? We are on a network and even though I have a brand new computer, I cannot get sounds to work in anything but IE, MS Office and the Start menu. The problem is not with the card because the sounds play when I assign sounds to events and test it. Our IT thinks it's a Windows 2000/WordPerfect conflict or problem but the computer we just turned back in had the same software and the sound worked. This however was an exception because the other computers - all the same kind - don't work. Our IT already cleared out the registry but some people get the problem back as soon as they open WordPerfect. However, I've had the problem without ever even using WordPerfect on the new computer.

That's a strange one because I use win2000 pro and I use Word Perfect all the time and have no problems at all with my sound schemes. I would tend not to agree with your IT on this one.
