Help if you can please.

I just now completed a download and install on my XP sp2 and now I cannot restart.

I just downloaded (automatic form Windows I thought - now I wonder is it a virus of some kind?) and installed the latest update for my XP Pro SPs OS. On restart I get the error message, "SH Create Thread Ref could not be located in dynamic link library SHLWAP1.dll."

I cannot start by using last good session.

Nor will it restart with Safe Mode.

I am stuck. I am on a laptop in Eastern Europe. I have another OS Home installed on a different drive so I can communicate but that's about it. I tried to find the driver on the web but was unable to. Would reinstalling the driver assuming I can find it fix my problem.

I have XP Rescue installed but cannot get to it except backdoor.
