My problem is "I can watch movie cd/dvd's but unable to read data dvd's."

I have disabled from device manager and then enabled it but it doesnt solved my problem.

I have updated the firmware from JL02 to JL04 but it doesnt solved my problem.

what application are you trying to read data dvd's with?

I can read data dvd's with nothing installed except Windows XP w/SP2 using Windows Explorer.

I can only read movie dvd's using WinDVD or PowerDVD (dvd decoding software)

Your problem sounds like a hardware problem, ie: defective drive

I can only and only see the movies with powerdvd or any video application.

Is my drive defective?
