I really dont know much about all this, all I know is my CD works but not the DVD. Thought I just needed to dwn load driver. HELP

Please state what it is that doesn't work.

1: The dvd does not play dvd movie disks?
2: The drive does not burn dvd disks?

If #1, you need to install compatible dvd decoding software like WinDVD or PowerDVD.

If #2, you must have compatible dvd authoring software, ie: burning software like Easy CD/DVD Burning software or Nero.

and please note, you cannot have an internal drive with a USB interface. Internal drives normally have an IDE interface.
