An Optiarc AD-5170a is an internal IDE drive. http://www.sonynec-optiarc.de/en/exhibits/hh-drives/ad-5170a.html

Nec/Optiarc/Sony is all owned jointly. Optical drives do not require any driver other than what is supplied natively by the OS.

USB drives (newer styles) do not require a driver either, however, they require a working USB port.

Please state what the problem is and include some details.
