I need to re-load windows xp 2000 on my couputer. as most of you know they don't give you the cd's anymore because most of all the software is pre-loded when you buy there items. But when you have a problem and want to re-load, you out of luck.. Thanks for any help or input.

Normally when a restore disk is not included with a pc system, the manufacturer creates a small hidden partition on the hard drive. The partition contains the files needed to restore a pc system to the same state it was in when purchased. I personally don't know of any manufacturer who doesn't provide one option or the other.

you should refer to your pc documentation to learn how to do the recovery process.

If you need additional help, please provide the brand and model of the pc system and say if it's a desktop or laptop pc.

Its a Compaq Presario DeskTop Modle # 6430NX Purchased in 2003.

Windows XP Home Edition was installed.

And you found and read the documentation that came with the pc which explains how to do a system restore?

Note: this model came with restore disks on cd-rom. If you don't have them, that's like loosing the keys to your car. If your system did not come with these disks, you need to contact your vendor and request those very important disks.
