Since you failed to say if you have the Windows XP os installed and working, I can only offer the following:

Optical drives never require a driver when used in any Windows os from Win95 up. Windows XP provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. No support for playing dvd disks or for burning dvd or cd-rw disks. For those tasks, compatible 3rd. party recording & dvd decoding software is required.

If your problem is non-detection, please read post #24 in this thread: http://forums.driverguide.com/showthread.php?t=21669&page=4

Now if your problem is you have reformatted the hard drive and yet to install Windows, then you don't need a Windows XP driver, you need a DOS driver to enable the optical drive. That driver is on every boot disk. If you don't have a boot disk, then go to www.bootdisk.com and get one.

And last, if your trying to install Windows XP from the cd disk and you can't get the system to see the install disk, simply go into bios setup and change the boot order to where the cd rom drive is the FIRST boot device.

Anything I missed please let me know.
