Optical drives NEVER require a driver in Windows XP. The os provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. It contains no support for burning dvd or cd-rw disks or for playing dvd movie disks. For those tasks, compatible 3rd party recording and dvd decoding software is required.

I don't understand why you members don't provide some simple information when asking for help. The main information that no one ever provides is this:

1: My drive IS LISTED in Device Manager and My Computer
2: My drive IS NOT LISTED in Device Manager and My Computer.

If your problem matches #2, then you need to read the dozens of threads in this forum that have the solution. Keyword for your search is "delete upper and lower filters fix". It's in dozens of threads and also there is a STICKY at the top of this forum that will solve the problem.

Otherwise you have to describe your problem as we have no way to see over the internet or over your should to see into your pc to verify what the problem is. It appears as you did not do any reading before posting. That's why we have a forum. Your problem is NOT unique and has been discussed in many, many previous threads.
