If Windows has configured your SATA controller correctly, you don't need any drivers. Check in Device Manager and see if the SATA is configured properly.

Or you can just delete the listings under SATA and reboot. That way Windows will reload the sata drivers automatically. That should allow Windows to redetect and install the sata drive.

I have a Dell Dimension 9100 with all sata drives and I never had to load any driver for my optical drive. But of course, I used the installation disk that came with the pc to install it.

And the HP website (h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3253418&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3252512&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1098) has nothing listed for SATA.

btw, I think your the first member who has stated that you have a SATA optical drive.

btw, I think your the first member who state that you have SATA optical drive.

Why first? Model is HP dc5750MT with everything SATA inside, not even IDE slots for floppy (memory cards reader instead) & HD/opt drive.
I've located problem. It's not in LG opt drive, this HP have problem with bus controller (see HP forum http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threadId=1131900&admit=109447627+1196837292972+28353475)

I don't believe I understand your question, ie: Why first? Do you not believe me? If you don't then show me another thread where the member said he had an optical drive with a SATA interface that's dated before your post.

I also don't understand your explanation of how the problem was solved. And I read nothing about bus controller in the link you posted. Care to break it down into understandable terms? If not that's ok since you really never gave us a problem description in your first post. We don't know what the original problem was nor what the solution was. You simply didn't say.
