Hello,
I have a GigaByte GA-7N400Pro2 (Rev2.0) board,AMD XP2200,
I am also a Linux newbie, just installing Red Hat's Fedora Core 1,
(to my old computer) would like to Upgrade to Core 2..On Main..
My Problem: Getting the ATA Raid driver to install..
I am currently running Windows XP with Raid0 stripe set..
The ITE GigaRaid drivers will not work, i have researched the Linux sites,
Gigabyte and others..I have tried to recompile the kernel according to the
users manual book, it is not current..I compiled 2.4.27 (on old comp) , it calls for modifing the Lilo.conf - which is blank...after running the Make install...
Even If I did get to compile, I need to be able to boot from the Install CD
for Fedora 2...to activate the Raid drivers on this machine..I have tried the expert mode to 'select' a driver disk, but of course I have none that work..
And I do not know how to transfer a modified Kernel..
I want to run Linux on my main machine..
I have read almost all the Raid Posts, and read about the ITE 8212 posts, that were able to use Raid..
and still stuck.. I have bought 2 Linux books..and Still no progress..
Linux is so much better than Windows..I have seen that much so far..
Any suggestions would be appreciative..
