I have a Toshiba Portege 3500 PC tablet running Tablet PC Edition 2005 with XP SP2 applied. It has an internal wifi card/adapter which comes up under device manager as "Toshiba Wireless Lan Mini PCI Card". The driver shows Agere Systems Version 7.82.0.354.
My issue is it does not appear to have support for WPA, which I need. Is there an updated driver i can use to get that WPA support?

Thanks KenM

Perhaps this article by Barb Bowman will help: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bowman_03july28.mspx

Thanks for the reply Jerry. I read that article, but I'm pretty sure I need the updated agere driver. The version i have does not even show WPA as an option when I try to setup a wireless conection for WPA. What I actually did was took the existing driver looked at the readme.txt which told me what computers the driver was compatible with. One was a Dell 1300, so I went to dell website downloaded the current driver and believe it or not it worked! Kind of strange to see a Dell driver show up on a Toshiba laptop.
Either way i'd like to get the proper Agere driver if at all possible..

If this product came from Toshiba, I suggest visiting one of their many websites to see if driver update is available. All the wireless lan cards I've used automatically bring up WPA/WEP during installation.

This is all I have saved in my favorites:

(Dell 1300 WLAN Driver for Toshiba Portege 3500 tablet pc to enable WPA)...so I went to dell website downloaded the current driver and believe it or not it worked! Kind of strange to see a Dell driver show up on a Toshiba laptop.

Hi Ken,

could you provide me with a link to that driver? I checked Dells homepage but found only Broadcom drivers which did not work with my card.

Thanks!

You might try reading this thread. It contains about 25,000 Windows 2000 and Widnows XP drivers:
