hello everyone
if i connect the outlet of my scanner (Scantak, sf-600) (the outlet is a female parallel port) to a male to male converter and have it connected to my I/O parallel port, will it be work? thanks

I strongly suspect the scanner you have has a SCSI interface from your statement. The older scsi scanners has this type of connector/cable and MUST be connected to a scsi controller card ONLY with mating interface connector.
Connecting it to a LPT port will not only destroy the lpt port circuitry but the scanner as well... Hope you have not connected it and powered up the pc... if you have then you can say good bye to the scanner as well as the lpt port.

If it was a parallel port scanner, then it would connect directly to the lpt port without using the double adapter you mentioned.
