Can anyone help me find a driver to use my Win98 pc with my DI-524 (Rev. C) wireless router? I want to have the Win98 pc hardwired to the router so that I can used my XP laptops wirelessly. DLink tech support wouldn't help me, but they said that their customer service might be able to send me the correct drivers (yet customer service was closed when I called). Their site says that the router can be used with Win98, but I can't find the drivers or the correct install information. Please help me! Thanks!

routers do not require drivers (in any OS). Routers must be configured (or just reset using the reset button on the back for default values) using a web browser like Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Foxfire, etc. Some do not allow configuration via wireless, you have to connect a ethernet cable. Once configured, you can then connect via wireless. Basically all routers are configured using the same procedure. mine is Netgear and I connect to it via web browser using 192.168.1.1 ---that's the default address for most routers however yours may differ slightly. Please read the instruction manual to learn this procedure.

Ok, thanks. I did try hooking up my router to my Win98 pc before and it seemed to go smoothly, but it wouldn't let me get online with the pc (which I want to use to configure the router, since it will be the hardwired machine). I guess I'll just try again. Thanks.
