since i installed all versions of windows vista, from the beta one to ultimate one, fist it was very hard that this OS recognizes a lot of periphirals ans other devices. step by step and after all users did their best, some devices are avalable now, but others impossible to have a way for them such as Some HP devices and mainly HP scanjet 4100C which is a veru prformnt scnnr nevr need to be moved away ! please, iof someone had already tested an available driver, lt me know about it. please write if o,ly sure it works with vista. all other tests have been done so nio use recommand ome solution nver testd.

Your determination is commendable, however, if HP doesn't provide Vista support (and I'm sure they don't), your wasting time.... yours and mine!

Yea, I would really like to know where to find the freakin driver too. Its ludicrous that hp or microfluff hasn't developed the stinkin driver.:curse:

well, it seems hp does not provide this driver,
but did someone try an xp one like sj499fr.exe
is it working?

if not, we have to build the driver like linux users

No way !! i actually tested the major part of xp drivers including this one sj499fr.exe ..but still no way.
You could test this free soft "Vuescan" it recognizes all kind of scanners including scanjet 4100c but the problem is about OCR. Every thing is ok if u just need to scan docs in format other than txt.

it might work for vista??
